Hi reader,

NEWS UPDATE is back!

We are off to an encouraging start to our 2016 golf year with good rainfall and humidity benefiting the course but not enough to cancel any golf.

2016 Opening Day on 30th January 2016 saw a good field of 105 players despite the wet and blustery conditions.   All our regular competitions are now underway.

Despite repeated reminders there are still regular occurrences of golf cart storage sheds being left unlocked and unattended.   As you may be aware we had an incident late last year involving a golf cart and a set of golf clubs going missing from one of the sheds.

Members Personal Property (e.g. sporting equipment such as golf clubs) temporarily stored at club premises is covered under The Club’s insurance arrangements but only when the area where the sporting equipment is stored is fully enclosed and securely locked at all times.    Leaving a shed unlocked will almost certainly compromise cover in the event of an incident that could give rise to a claim.

As has already been pointed out insurance on individually owned golf carts stored at club premises is the member’s responsibility.  Leaving a shed unlocked could also compromise cover in this respect.

NEWS UPDATE is our regular wrap of results, what's happening and news from around the traps.  Click on 'Read more' at the end of each Post excerpt below to read the full article.

Cheers

Quotes of the Week

I was lying 10 and had a 35 foot putt.  I whispered over my shoulder: "How does this one break?"  And my caddie said "Who cares?"- Jack Lemmon.

Mexican, Lee Trevino, was mowing his front lawn one day when a lady in a flash car stopped and inquired how much he charged to mow the lawn. Lee replied "Well that depends - in this case the lady of the house let's me sleep with her so I don't charge her."  The lady drove off very quickly!

I had a wonderful experience on the golf course today.  I had a hole in nothing.  Missed the ball and sunk the divot.  Don Addams
