Week Ending 16th September 2017

Hi reader,

A reminder that nominations for our Host Day visit to Caloundra on Friday, 29th September, close next Wednesday, 20th September.  click on the following link to the Nomination List. Caloundra Nomination List.  You can access the Nomination Form from this list.  If you want to play but don't have access to the on-line facility contact Rod Booth urgently.

The 2017 Single Match Play has been quietly resolved with Grant Smallacombe taking out the trophy from last years winner Bruce McLean.  A well deserved victory from all accounts - congratulations to both players.

Welcome aboard to new member, Walter Siener.

The good scores continued on Wednesday with Rex Williams taking out A Grade with 40, Doug Allisone (aka 'The Bandana') B Grade with 43, and Brad Lavender C Grade with 43.  Some players seem to have mastered the dry conditions!

We are holding our Prostate Cancer Fundraiser again this year with proceeds going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.  Tickets in a monster raffle go on sale later this month. As part of the fundraiser, a Prostateless Challenge will be played on Wednesday, 25th October in conjunction with the November Monthly Medal and monster raffle draw - more shortly.

The popular International All Stars vs Aussies (Stableford) event will be played on Wednesday, 27th September.  The field is divided into 3 separate teams according to heritage with the best 10 scores from each team counting towards the coveted pewter mug trophy - full of free beer of course!  Reputations are at stake. There have been unconfirmed reports of offers of inducement to some members to change their heritage to gain a team advantage and take down 2016 winners, the International All Stars, skippered by Jim (aka Irish) Henderson.  Sounds a bit like Federal Parliament!
