Week Ending 12th August 2017

Hi reader,

You will have noticed work on the concrete cart path at the 17th Tee is progressing well.  The work continues on Monday morning (14th July) so if you can assist just turn up.

We head to Gympie on Tuesday, 15th August 2017.  It is a 9:00 am shotgun start with registration by 8:30 am.

The inaugural Foundation Members Old Course Challenge proved very successful with some very good scores posted over the two rounds. Terry Harrison took out Round 1 with 23, Lance Horn Round 2 with 24 with Lance crowned the overall Champion with an impressive 46 points.

Thanks to Lionel Willett and Ed Otto for sponsoring the event and to Lionel for starting the discussion that initiated “The Challenge”

The recent single match-play between Peter Kennedy and Grant looks to have fired them up with both carding impressive scores in Wednesdays' Stableford competition.  Peter shot 44 to win A Grade with Grant carding 46 to take B Grade.  John Round took out C Grade with 42 points.

Kev Tonkins' young grandson was introduced to golf as Kev's cart buddy on Wednesday.  I hope he wasn't in earshot of Con Russell or he might have learned more about golf than he needed to.

Grant looks to have reached form at the right time for his R3 single match-play game against Rod Harper.  After posting his score of 46 Grant, with a wry smile, asked Rod if he wanted to concede.
