Wednesday - 16th July 2025
Next week is the 1st Round of 'The Old Course Challenge'.
Played over two weeks, this separate competition, in addition to the normal 18-hole Stableford, recognises our founding members, the late Ed Otto and Lionel Willett, who established the Cooroy Vets in 1985.
We have been running this competition since 2017, with Gary Menyweather holding the Trophy from last year. For those who may not know, the 'Old Course' is the original 9-hole layout and includes holes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 16, 17, 18.
Our most successful player in this event is Jim Henderson, who won in 2020 and 2022. Jim has decided to give the event a miss this year to give others a chance. Handicaps are frozen over the 2 weeks for this competition, but will not be the case for the main 18-hole competition.
