SLOW PLAY
Please be aware that slow play by early groups has a marked effect on the groups who follow them. This has resulted in 5-hour rounds of late and disgruntled members. If you feel that you are falling behind for any reason, you always have the option of calling the group behind you through.

WEDNESDAY
Our Single Stableford event was sponsored by The Grand Pars, Mike Kent, Dale Rickard, Lance Horn, and Mike O’Donnell. We appreciate your contribution, and we were quite happy to see Dale Rickard win a portion of his sponsorship back by finishing 2nd in B-Grade.

Unfortunately for Paul Williams, his game came to an abrupt end when his buggy found its way into the water hole on the 11th.

A great effort by this week’s star player, Brian Clemow, who finished with the best score of the day with 38 points.

HOST DAYS
Club identity Kevin Crundall hangs up his bread knife. Kevin or 'Kitchen Wench', as he is affectionately known, has been volunteering his time preparing morning tea for our home host days for many years. The SCDVGA requires that we provide some sort of morning tea for our host days. The Vets Committee appreciate Kevin’s effort, not only for this, but also for his support and willingness to help in any way that he can. “Thank you, Kevin”. Meanwhile, Vice-Captain Jim Henderson has been offering incentives to others who may like to take Kevin’s place.

VALE BILL GALVIN
It was very sad to hear of the recent passing of Bill Galvin.
|
Bill was a past President and Secretary of the CGC in the early 2000s. I had several communications with Bill during my time as President last year and found his knowledge and support most valuable during a difficult time. Bill also passed on a lot of documentation that he and Finance Director John Riley had put together. These documents give a great insight into Bill’s attention to detail.
|
Bill was one of the original Bush Boys and sponsored the Vets for many years.
|
Bill also served on the Vets management committee.
|
On behalf of the Vets, I pass on our condolences to Jan and family.
