VETS 2024 AGM
The most significant result was the Special Resolution outcome which now sees the Cooroy Veterans Golf Club Constitution amended to include Female Members as Ordinary Members. Requiring a 75% majority of the 56 who registered to vote, the result was 46 Yes, 7 No, 1 Abstain, and 2 Voting Slips not returned. The committee believes this is a positive move forward and can only be a good thing for golf participation.
The other result was that Vets Membership fees for 2025 (due by 1st January) will remain at $15.
Bruce Otto won’t forget the day both he and Donald Trump were successfully elected as President of their associations.

Other positions filled were:
Captain: Grant Smallacombe
Vice Captain: Jim Henderson
Secretary/Treasurer: Rod Booth
These 3 positions above are on the proviso that they wish to hand over the reins and will assist others who will be able to take over at some time throughout the year.
Host Day Captain: John Cranley
Committee: Terry Lyons, Dave Lyons, John Hawkins, Joe Daniels.

WEDNESDAY
Best 2 of 4 Stableford Highlights
Dennis Beckhaus arrived 2 hours early not realising it was a shotgun start; this gave him plenty of time to work on strategies. This paid off as he and his team of Andre Smit, Bob Noble, and John Stewart finished with a great winning score of 90 points c/b.
Runners Up: Mike Smith, Dave Lyons, Ron Waldron, Hans Herrle - 90 points. Third Place: David Tink, Richard Gibson, Peter Brown, Tony Watson – 89 points c/b.
Run down went to 87 c/b.
The single Stableford scores count toward the Stableford Player of the Year. The leaderboard can be viewed on the Vets notice board. With only 4 Stableford games remaining (weather permitting) the leaders are Gary Menyweather 363, Greg Michael 359, Kerry Davies and Bronco Price 358, and Peter Jeucken 357.
