Week ending 16th April 2022

Hi reader,

HOST DAY PROGRAM

We had a field of 47 players made up of only 11 from Caloundra, which is very disappointing. Consideration will be given to combining them with Tin Can Bay in next years program.

Two of our players did not turn up. While we can handle that in-house, we don’t want to see that happen when we visit other clubs.

Don (Dangerous) Clelland continues to bask in the glory of the best round of the day with 39 points to win C grade from Alex Kologaras 37 points.

Winner of B grade was Geoff Pembroke 36 points from Mat McQueen 34 points pipping President, Graham Laing in a countback.

Another great round from 6 marker, Andy Stewart, to win A grade with 38 points from Mike Kent 47 points.

Needless to say Cooroy dominated NTP’s and balls in the run down – see full details in post link below.

District 2 Ball Aggregate

Peter Piggott
and Greg Michael missed out on a gift voucher for 5th place out of 42 teams in a countback. Three other Cooroy teams got balls in the rundown.

Mt Coolum always put on a good show; our players enjoyed the day.

WEDNESDAY

A multi competition day as we played catch-up for the March Monthly Medal, a single Stableford and Best Gross.

Thanks to 'The Ball Busters' aka Andrew Carson Ron Ballantyne, Don Clelland and Joe Daniels. They didn't bust too many balls in today's competition.

After shooting one of your best rounds ever, 43, you would be quietly confident of taking home the prize but it wasn't to be for Tony Kershaw. Unfortunately for Tony, new member, Graham 'Burgs' Burgen, also shot one of his best rounds on the same day in the same grade, pushing Tony out of first place in C Grade on a countback.

Mike Kent continued his good form from Monday, taking A Grade with 41 from Peter Jeucken 40.

Captain, Grant Smallacombe led B Grade with 38 for most of day but got pipped at the end by a fast finishing Greg Flanagan on 39.

Next Wednesday is our ANZAC Day 4 Man Ambrose and 8:00 am shotgun start with sponsorship by the Cooroy/Pomona RSL Sub Branch and our ex-servicemen. See Grant or Rod if you want to join our ex-servicemen in sponsorship.

There will be a Jimmy's Famous Banger's and Beer on the deck after the game.
