2020 VETS FINAL DAY & XMAS LUNCH
Given COVID-19 restrictions our final day will be a relatively low-key affair. It is a time start from 6:30am so people will be moving in and out of the clubhouse throughout the day. The numbers allowed in the clubhouse at any one time need to be managed.
|
We have deferred presentation of 2020 awards to Vets opening day on Wednesday, 6th January 2021 when, perhaps optimistically, we anticipate we can hold a shotgun start.
|
When you register on Wednesday you will be given a ticket for a free drink from the bar. A cold pickNeat platter will be available to each player and invited guest throughout the day.
|
Whilst restrictions create difficulties around numbers in the clubhouse, we are continuing the tradition of inviting past members and members who don’t play regularly so they can catch up with friends. If attending we suggest you time your visit to coincide with their return to the clubhouse after the game. You need to sign in at the bar.

Wear something in the spirit of Xmas.

You can request a Vets 2021 green membership card once paid. You may be required to produce the card when playing in sanctioned Veteran golfer events outside the District. The card may entitle you to a concessional rate if you play in a veteran golf competition at another club.

WEDNESDAY
Our last Stableford for the year saw a countback in every grade down to 3rd place and some good scores on a not quite so hot day. Thanks to Greg Michael for sponsorship.
|
Mike Kent claimed A Grade with 40 from Ian Lumsden and Kerry Davies. Kerry also won the NTP on the 3rd sponsored by Sweeney Todd Haircuts.
Captain Grant finished the year well taking first place in B Grade with 38 from Ray Lally and Darryl Ayers.
|
Ian Mulhall had a good day shooting 42 to take C Grade from Andrew Aves (reportedly his best ever score) and Larry McErvale. Ian also took the NTP on 7th.
|
|
Jimmy Henderson claimed a trifecta - winning a bottle of wine in the Lucky Draw for the third week in a row.
|
|
|
XMAS LUCKY DRAW
Our thanks to Ron Ballantyne for donating the wine (pictured) for a special Xmas Lucky Draw next Wednesday.

|
There will be six winners - one bottle each. Winners, please sign off on the lucky draw sheet when you collect.

2021 - ANNUAL PROGRAM
Grant is close to finalising our program for 2021 - it will be a busy year.
|
There are still a couple of 2021 member sponsor spots available. If you are interested speak to Grant. You can sponsor individually or get a team together and come up with a suitable, or unsuitable, team sponsor name.
|
|
We hope to fit in a full host and invitation day program including a visit to Maryborough mid year to play the MaryRoy Shield. We have the cost of the bus covered.
