Hi reader,

WEDNESDAY

A very hot and humid day with slow course conditions for our coloured ball challenge sponsored by "The Critters' (Brian 'The Guru' Clemow and Tony 'The Fos' Foster).

We provided each team with a coloured ball and the challenge to return it to the clubhouse after 18 holes. Lose the ball and you are out of the challenge. Several teams carefully worked out a strategy to play the coloured ball in a sequence that suited the preferred holes for each players. It works well if you can get past the first two holes - some didn't. One team had it so well planned that on the 13th they were able to hand the ball to the nominated player (nameless but has the title VC) to play his favourite hole. Of course, Murphy's Law prevailed (he is Irish) and he put the coloured ball in the water and then proceeded to put his next ball in the water also. End of challenge!

In a field of 95, five teams returned the ball to the clubhouse leaving Grant's supply seriously depleted. The team of Gary Stephens, Rex Williams and Bob Read returned the ball and a score of 34 to win the challenge and collect a family size pie each from Noosa Pie Company.

The heat, humidly and course conditions made it a tough day at the office for the single Stableford with 38 the best score of the day.

Mike Kent claimed A Grade with 38 on countback from Bob Noble and Geoff Linde 35.

Rex Williams had a good day taking out B Grade with 36 from Derek Wood 35 and Grant Smallacombe 34.

Dave Chapman carded 38 to take C Grade from Tony Kershaw 36 and Rick Lenske 35. There is a rumour that Tony was still recovering from the Cooroy Golf Club Jokers Tour.

2021 VETS AGM

A reminder that we will hold our 2021 AGM next Wednesday at the conclusion of the competition. It is an 8:00am shotgun start.

You can click on the button below to read the reports that will be presented at the AGM.

It is our normal practice to present our annual trophies at the end of the year when we hold our Xmas Lunch. As it is anyone’s guess if this will be possible, we will present trophies completed thus far at the conclusion of the AGM.

COVID-19 restrictions on numbers in the clubhouse need to be observed.
