The course presented a great sight for the very early starters with a light mist and dew on the grass.

No need to bring a cut lunch next week as it is a FREE sausage sizzle with Jim 'Irish' Henderson and Brian 'The Chef' McLoughlin doing the cooking and, a celebration of Australia Day so wear something appropriate. It is a 2 Man Ambrose and 8:00am shotgun start.

Welcome aboard to new members Paul Williams and Ron Ballantyne. We look forward to seeing them very shortly for their first game with the Vets.

HIGHLIGHTS of the WEEK
Around 45 Cooroy Vets travelled to Pelican Waters on Monday for our first Host Day event for 2020. Dangerous Don Clelland shot a 'GolfLink bell-ringer' 49 points (Grant was expecting a call from GolfLink) to take first place in C Grade with Jack Ruig taking third place. Apart from that, PW won everything else, including the raffle. A great day!
|
Another good field of 91 on Wednesday for our first Stableford of the year sponsored by the 'R-Souls of Golf' (aka John Cairns, Tony Bernhagen, Ray Lally, Greg Flanagan and Jason Egan).
|
Phil Mason had his second straight win of 2020 to take A Grade with 40 on three-way countback from Geoff Linde and Kerry Davies.
Lance Horn took B Grade with 40 from Jim Gregg 39 and Jack Ruig 39.
|
An impressive 43 saw Alex Kologaras take C Grade on countback from Lionel Willett (90 years young) and Geoff Edwards 40. Alex also won the NTP on 6th.
|
|
'Lucky' Bob Noble won the Noosa Outlook Prestige Meats Voucher on the 15th and then won a bottle of our best wine in the lucky draw to go with it.

WEDNESDAY LUCKY DRAW
A reminder to put your name on the FREE Lucky Draw Sheet on Wednesday. Your chances are diminished (actually NIL) if you are not on the sheet.
|
On time start days, the draw is made immediately all players are registered and the winners noted on the whiteboard. When you return to the clubhouse after completing your game check the whiteboard and collect your prize from the presentation table. Please ensure you sign off the sheet provided to confirm collected. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you do not collect on the day the prize is forfeited.

On shotgun start days the draw is made at the presentation. You must be present to collect.

The Clubs official Opening day on Saturday, 25th January is a 4 person Ambrose any combination – SHOTGUN START AT 11.30 am. The course will be closed to social play all day.
