Hi reader,
2017 12 - Dave Chapman NZ Strip

VETS on the ROAD

Dave Chapman is in NZ visiting his son who has set up a golf course in a paddock next to his farmhouse which is north of Dannevirke on the North Island. The course has six holes with four par threes and two par fours. The holes are about 150 mm. diameter because it is hard to putt so you have to chip in.

You are only allowed one club so you have to choose carefully before you start. You do get a preferred lie and there is a 2 stroke penalty if you hit a lamb. Setting out on the first hole is Dave with his son and his twin boys.

HOLIDAY SEASON STABLEFORD

A good field of 76 played in the final round in hot and humid conditions.

There is a delay in announcing the aggregate result and A Grade daily result pending the outcome of a review by the Vets committee.

Kevin Olsen took out the daily B Grade prize with 40 points, followed by Jason Egan 38 c/b and Jim Henderson 38 c/b.

Nick Kostalas took out C Grade with 42 points, followed by Mike Smith 41 and Ian Mulhall 38.

Prizes will be presented at Vets Opening Day next Wednesday, 10th January - 8:00 am shotgun start. As there is a large field it will help the Starter if you arrive and register early. Please note your starting hole from the whiteboard before reporting to the Starter.

HOST DAY visit to PELICAN WATERS

You need to act quickly if you want to play at Pelican Waters. We have a contingent of 41 so far. Nominations close 8th January 2018.

MEMORIAL GARDEN at 18th Tee

The Jim and Ilene Penman Memorial Garden at the 18th Tee is complete thanks to Grant and Jim and the work of Vets volunteers.

The garden will be maintained by the Vets so if you spot any weeds or rubbish when playing the 18th please take a few moments to remove them. And if you any spare fresh water the plants also enjoy a drink.
